    If anybody makes it near Temple with some of that wood, I would like to do some bowls on the large!

      I played in college (albeit a pitcher)...pretty sure the three types are maple, ash and hickory. I haven't heard of bats being made of anything else.

      EDIT:

      I just upgraded my lathe to a JET (still old and not that big) but I would be very interested in getting in on some of this. I can't make a trip to houston specifically for it if anyone is bringing it back to DFW area. I could chip in for gas.
