I’m terrible about remembering to get pictures throughout the process, and I build stuff about like I cook (don’t really follow a recipe or instructions, just find stuff from here and there and kind of throw it together). My wife wanted a headboard made out of pallet wood. I thought that if I was going to take the time to do it, I might as well make a frame for added storage, and throw in some bells and whistles. I did the frame similar to the picture I posted, except I made boxes for each corner and made the center a long rectangle. I also reinforced the frame with vertical and horizontal 2x4s, which was big time overkill and made the thing heavy heck. I pulled all the pallet boards apart, from the pallet frame and stained and or painted them before ripping them to size on a table saw.
I made the light fixtures from some mason jars we had, wired them to a dimmer switch on the side of the recessed shelf. I also ran an outlet for each of the shelves that has 2 USB ports and 2 outlets. I also ran some led rope light to backlight it. The center hatch runs the full length because my wife was complaining about not having a place for long gun soft cases.
