Welder machine makeover and skid build.

Well it’s time to give ole faithful a much needed make over. She runs and welds great but cosmetically seen better days.
On the to-do list is give her a nice buffing and install a new face plate.
Instead of having a dedicated welding rig like my last few trucks I’ve decided to build a skid. Since I run a skid steer too I don’t need the extra weight all the time.

Nice go for it, that’s a trailer hitch receiver. Pretty handy to switch the lifting eye with a ball and move some trailers around.

Lift

Made this from welding channel iron back to back. Reason I used channel is because that’s what I had laying around. It’s hung many trusses and is as handy as a pocket on a shirt. It bolts to bucket of my tractor.

Ball park how long is that? How high does it lift for you on your machine? I have one that utilizes forks but this is a way better design.
