Tried my first alligator skull in July. 3 days in an enclosed 5 gallon bucket and the bottom jaw was in about 6 pieces.

Besides beetles, this is the best way to clean any skull.

We did one a few years ago and the smell was by far the nastiest thing ever. I don’t have a weak stomach but almost puked several times even with a mask on. I’ll pay the $80-100 from now on. Lol

Yours is looking good. I did the same and used peroxide from the hair salon and it worked fine.

Any reason for doing it like this and not boiling it? Are there advantages I'm not seeing?

            Good job.
Looks like it barely fit inside that container.
What would you use for something with larger antlers?

Is this anythig more than water in a tub and the sun?

You dont have to deal with the smell. Change the water every other day. It will work.

Some people may use something, but plain water works.
