I’m really torn though. We don’t have a barn or shop attached because I wanted a bigger shop not attached to the house to keep noise away from the house.
You can for sure get a lot of space extremely cost efficiently with a metal building. But in my research, for just a house, it really comes out about the same. That being said it does seem that Brando’s are much simpler projects for DIYers like myself.

FYI 5" movement is very possible in your area. Just remember the Gander Mountain store closed. The slab there had over 24 inches of differential movement in the store. Soils in your area are very expansive.
