be careful with the "you can't put to much water on it" statement. I just had 6 pallets put down on my lawn and I did put to much water on it. I lost about 1/4 of it to disease.
The first week you will want to water it twice a day and each time until it feels spongy under your feet. The second week back off to once a day and then the third week probably every other day or maybe every 2 days. Don't mow it for at least 3 weeks.

As for How to lay it, Id say start in an area with your longest straightest line and work it in a triangular pattern towards the other side. Drop it down and kick it into place. Use a heavy flat shovel to make your cuts and you will be good to go.

The best thing to remember is to water it very well every day after you put it out for the first 2-3 weeks...you could also fertilize it using a winter type fertilizer.
