I did it as well in 2 of the boys rooms.

8 feet by 3 feet. If it will not fit up there it is not staying.

Culled half the guns that would not fit in a 8 foot by 6 foot area.

total cost was $20 pegboard, had depot cut it into 4 x 5 sheet
$8 in 2 x 3 studs, cut to 4'
about $20 in hooks and baskets
