Couple DIY projects

I'm terrible at progression pictures. But here's 2 projects I did over the last week or two. Nothing spectacular but I'm pretty pleased with them.



Both projects were my wife's request, the first is a coffee bar and the second is just a trash can holder.

Next is a wine bar/rack for my sister!

What is the finish on the wood? Are you burning them with a torch then sealing over it?
