I'm sorry but I don't think I understand your question. The steel is forge welded Damascus. You don't create the Damascus after a blade is shaped. That is what it is before the blade is shaped or ground.

In one of the first pics of the unfinished knife, the blade doesn't appear to have the Damascus properties. The pic of the finished knife obviously does. I was just wondering how you accomplished that?

10-4. I etch in etchant and it darkens the higher carbon layers. Sorry I misunderstood the question.
Not my style, but DANG good work and killer attention to detail! My son would give a few toes for this knife!
Now now, we wouldn't want that! I've nearly lost a few making these boogers in the past but that's how you learn to leave the flip flops on the beach and not in the shop!
