    First time doing leather work

Tried my hand at doing a little leather work the other day. I was tired of my old cracked up leather arm rest in my truck so I made this little cover. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out even though the dye didn't come out at even as I hoped but I guess it gave it a kinda distressed look, overall pretty happy considering it was my first time working with leather. Any pointers or advise for the next time is more than welcome!

That's a good first attempt. On a piece that big you really need to use an airbrush to get even coverage. Pretty tough to achieve with the dobber.

I've had problems getting a consistent dye on anything other than black. That does look a lot like King Ranch leather, nice look to it.
