I have a..umm..friend.. who bent the heck out of some of the eyes on his rods when sliding the rod tips into the circle side versus using the slotted side. You might consider alternating the way the rods point so that eyes are all on the slotted side.

Or just be more careful then my friend was!!

I had them that way and designed it that way as well, but didn't use my head and measure before I hung it on that short wall. The tips hang past the corner of the wall and there is shelf there where I'm sure one will get broke. I need to just move it to the adjacent wall I guess...
