    European Wall Hanger?

I'm posting in the DIY forum because I know folks have figured out some solid ways of hanging a euro, but I am at a loss. Everything I come up with is pretty ugly. Anyone have a recipe for a nice wall mount that wont cost as much as a skull hooker?

Maybe someone can help on this one but there are hangers made of a simple plate and a piece of rebar. You can hardly see them when the skull is stuck onto the rebar. ????

Sounds like a cool idea, any designs out there?

You might try contacting Buff. He has a few euro's in his cabin where the top half of the skull was clean cut to lay completely flat on a wood plaque.

Pat Murphy is a competitor of mine and a friend.

He has a great design for a skull hanger.

Thanks! I get a lot of compliments even though it's just an old fence post and some rusted barbwire

3/4" OD light wall pipe. About 2.5-3" long.
                  2"x1/8"x 3" flat
Can be painted to match your wall color

I just use my dremel and bore out a "upside down skeleton key hole" on the back of the skull and then hang it on a screw. Drill one right by the spinal cord hole so you can hang it at a 45 and drill one on the back so you can hang it flat if you want. Will try to get some pic's and post em. Very simple and works very well.

This is how I do mine. Using a dremel, I cut out a "upside down key hole". Then hang em straight on a screw. Very easy and very clean.

My son just got his first Euro back from the taxidermist a couple of weeks ago. The taxidermist simply drilled two holes through the large bones where the skull attaches to the spine, and ran a piece of heavy wire through it and made a loop. I drove a screw anchor into the wall at an angle, and that was that.

                        Regards,

                        Dave

I know you said other than skull hookers, but here is how I have all of mine displayed. I cut the Texas out of cedar, clear coated, then attached the hooker to the board. I did this so I could use one small hanger in the wall instead of using two large screws that the hooker requires.

I had the same question a while back because I really didn't want to shell out $30+ dollars for a skull hooker with all the heads I had to hang. I went back and found the thread I started and there have actually been several new ideas added since I last looked. The one I ended up going with was about as easy as they come and has worked really well, but I like a lot of the others that have been put up.

The "L" bracket, two nuts, and a bolt with a slight bend in the bracket was easy and cheap!
