    DIY Blind windows

I recently bought some deerview windows for my new blind. I was very impressed with the ease of installation and functionality. I like them so much we decided to make our own for the other 2 sides.
We made the frame out of 1/2" thick pcs. We then cut 1/8" grooves in the frame pieces for the glass to fit in. Once we got all 4 sides cut we pieced it all together with glue and needle sized finishing nails. Bought the hinges and plastic catches from hardware store and mounted them up easy peasy.
Here is the finished product mounted in the blind. The 3rd and 4th pic are the deerview windows mounted for comparison.

Good looking Windows but you may want to put some tint on them.

Curious about how your price came out on the self-build? I had the same thought. Spent about twenty minutes figuring and putting stuff in the cart at the my local middle of nowhere (high price) hardware store. It quickly became apparent that it was going to cost nearly as much to build them myself, not even figuring in labor.

Im lucky that my father-in-law has a wood shop with all the tools you would need to build these.
Having access to the shop it took maybe 20 minutes to put the window together. This is not including glue drying time and actually mounting the windows in the blind.

The prices below are from home depot but I bet you could find even better deals if you searched online.

I wanted to get some tinted glass but didn't see any. I plan to add some burlap slider curtains.
