    DIY Extended Range Generator gas tank.

    Made this for my Honda 2000i generator.

    The honda runs about 8 hours which is great but it will cut off around 4 am if you start it at 8pm.

    This will ensure that I don't have to refill until the next day.

    tank = $7
    1/4 line = $4
    Filter = $3
    Nozzle = $10
    Gas Cap = $12 (Honda caps are expensive)
    1/4 in poly threaded nipple for gas cap = $1.50
    epoxy = $0.50 cents worth.

    So about $40 and very mobile.

    Very nice. I'm guessing it has a vent on the can you used?

    My generator has a metal cap so not sure this would work.

          I just screw the cap down one thread so it's secure but not air tight

            Heck of a set up. Should work just fine.

              you can do it to yours just as easy.

              just tap the cap and thread a 1/4 fitting to the top. Then use metal epoxy to make air tight.

              just drill a slightly smaller diameter hole than the fitting.

                  I have 2 different marine tanks. One 6 gal. And one 15 gal. You can buy the caps Pre-made on Amazon.
