Or maybe weld some square tubing that is just a little bigger than your axel on the front leg of your packer in different heights and use a pin to adjust them. Flip it up on its back and change the tire height.

I think you need to go through the thread. He tried putting the tires on top and couldnt flip it. He in turn built and pretty neat system to adjust the tires up and down in the back of the packer.

Yes I saw that, that's why I drew that cheap picture, if he moves the wheels further away from the packer even when there centered it will allow the whole thing to be closer to the ground maybe making it easier to flip on those larger tires and wheels. I'm not sure if I'm explaining it right. I can say it in my head but it doesn't seem to type out right.i can draw another amazing picture if that would help but it might just confuse things. This is why I never reply to threads.

That's really cool, it looks like it will push seeds into the seedbed nicely.

Sort of. Considering the short distances it will need to travel once it's out at our land, I've abandoned the lift / tire idea for now. There's a chance I'll revisit it after seeing how much of a pain it is to roll it around. It's difficult to explain but because of the floating rings I would need a setup that would lift it off the ground about 8". Getting that much lift is tough to achieve without putting excessive weight on my four wheeler.

We'll be out there this weekend - weather permitting and I'll give an update if it sees some use. Since we're not planting until next month, I may wait to try it out.

Brought it out to the land today to test it out and it worked great. I applied Roundup to my plot several weeks ago. I mowed then disced this morning. I went ahead and rolled it to check out the cultipacker and prep the seedbed and was really pleased with the smoothing/packing action. The plot looks great https://vimeo.com/180455267

I'll be fertilizing and planting in September. Depending on what the weeds do between now and then I may apply Roundup once more prior to planting.
