DIY Gravity Deer Block Feeder - Bolt on Tree

Last season the animals were hammering the deer blocks. The only problem was they didn't last long enough for me to be able to hunt over them.

On avg the blocks lasted maybe 5 days. Between deer eating on them, pigs hitting them, Aoudad stomping and eating on them, and the rain they never really stood a chance.

After a lot of looking and not finding one that was priced right, I decided to build this.

This will hold two of the 33 pounders.

I haven't drilled the holes yet but the plan is to bolt this to a tree.

It's pretty ugly and some of the welds aren't pretty either but when your welding in Houston in the summer time you stop caring how pretty things turn out. LOL

Can I ask why you decided to leave the back/bottom open? With the front being open and giving them access to the blocks, it seems they will easily fall out of your box when they get worn down some. Just curious. I think you've done a great job with it thus far.

I left it open because I plan to screw it to a tree.

So the back wont really be open.

I would close it off if I was planning to attach it to a t-post or hang it from a tree.
