i dont see how it work as a gravity feeder im missing something.

PVC won't help for long either, besides they can jump to the holes as low as it is, but I like the idea for the feeder.

The previous owner of my ranch made these protein feeders. They work really well. You could shorten the length of the tube to make the feed further off of the ground. The 3" pvc is connected to the barrel with a common toilet flange. I would make the feeder plate larger though. A lot of feed ends up on the ground with this one. Just another option.
