First off, great job on everything! It has been fun following along.

I must ask... What is this for?

My wife and daughters are short so I decided to make some pull out steps so they could reach some of the upper cabinets (ones that I have not built yet). They will have a finished front on them when done. I can stand on them and they don’t budge.

Here is the island in and after a couple days of drying. Also built a section with just drawers that the mrs wanted.

I thought that's what it was! My wife is 5'2" and I'm 6'3". So we have a lot of top shelf problems in our kitchen. :-)

Great idea. I love that you're thinking ahead. Guess that's the best part about custom work!

I’ve been watching this thread from day one and it’s still one of my favs. What an amazing talent and skill sets you have sir. To be capable of doing all the different things you do is impressive to say the least. Congrats again on a great piece of property and the build.

I made pullouts under the sink area so getting to things should be easier

The cabinet between the sink and MW is a pullout trash bin.

I got the island cabinets built and painted. Used 3/4 plywood and 1/2” Hardibacker for the countertop. Got the forms done, finished the sink last night. It’s ready to pour this morning. It’s going to take about 1000 lbs of cement. Ugh it’s going to be fun.
