HVAC fan motor 3 to 5 wires

My HVAC fan motor went out the other day. I know this because the condenser still ran, and I tested the capacitor. Also, the fan was difficult to turn, unlike my other systems fan which easily spun. My motor is a Rheem which has three wires a black, brown and orange. The new motor has five wires. The diagram is below for going from three to five wire system.

Can someone break this down for me step by step. Thanks

In for results. Diagram appears to be counter intuitive. With there being three wires I would think 2 would be power leads and the 3rd a signal. This is why I am not an electrical engineer.

The first motor was three, the new one is five. I know where to connect using three since I removed the bad motor. I just need help translating these diagrams.

Try bottom diagram, wire nut brown and yellow tugether now have 3 wires left,
If it spins wrong direction swap the two wires it says..
and if you dont know what the round symbol is that the purple wire lands on thats your capacitor.

I was guessing that since he had 3 wires on original motor that all were used. Each diagram only showed 2 leads which left me confused. I read the diagram the same as gusman.
