    Installing 1500 ft water line

I've finally got started on some work on our future home site. I began by getting a small dozer to clear out our future build site and clearing some roads. Next, I had him create a right of way for my water line. My place already had a meter but it was on the other side of my property. Last Monday my step dad and I rented a diesel witch ditch to trench the 1500 ft trench. The little trencher made quick work of that job. The entire trench was complete after 3.5 hrs of work. Definitely worth the $250 rental price. Today we picked up 75 joints of 2 in pvc pipe and about 20 joints of 3/4 in pipe. I was fortunate that my step dad was able to get me the 2 inch pvc at the price of the 1.25 pipe. All in all my drive out price for pipe, faucets, reducers, primer, tee, and anything else needed for the job came out to $ 1060. We plan on getting the piping installed on Sunday when I get out of work in the am.

Of course you've already invested some money in this 'opportunity'. But did you consider drilling a well instead? Free water adds up over the years.

No didn't really give it much thought since we already have city water on it. Wouldn't have made much sense to me price wise.
