I bought a similar one from another TBHer it had issues with the corn hitting the angle iron. How did you get around that issue?

Same problem on one I built and the angle was facing up. Mine is a directional unit so it was an easy fix. I bought a piece of thin galvanized sheet metal and sandwiched it between the lower unit and bottom of the barrel and then screwed it to the bottom of the angle. Works like a champ, not noticeable, and it actually improved the distance the corn is thrown. Might be a little trickier on a 360 degree lower unit, but I'm sure you could make it work with a bigger piece of sheet metal.
