ID:	25077054I just jumped into the knife making hobby and I am really enjoying it. I need a forge to heat treat and after searching the internet and YouTube I came up with this. I found an old propane bottle in our barn, removed valve, and cut it in half with a cut off wheel. Very solid and about 1/4" thick. Welded up some 1" square tubing legs at 18" high so I can sit in a chair and work. I bought some 1" black iron pipe fittings from Lowes and welded a 6" extension piece where the valve was on the tank so I didn't have to drill a hole. I welded a drain cap with 1/8" holes on inside of tank over valve hole to keep debris out of pipe. Pipe goes down to a "T" fitting and then I attached a 8" extension to get me out from under it. Then threaded a 1-1/2"-1" PVC reducer with female threads and and 2" rubber coupler for the hair dryer. Works like a charm

Yes, it's charcoal, i used 1080 steel in the picture, tried 01 this evening with good results. It's amazing how fast the blower will heat the steel to critical temp.
