    Homemade forklift jib

I needed something to move trailers around my property, lift from single lift point, ect. Had some angle, 1" plate, and some 1/4" flat bar. Click image for larger version

Not bad - I would advise putting a large screw/bolt on the underside. Tighten the bolt to keep the unit from sliding off the forks. We use something like that at work, and it has large bolts with handles attached.

Or of course a chain will work.

Looked it up online. The professional ones can get pretty expensive.
Not bad for some scrap metal.

that is like reaching around your head to scratch your ear....

Step 1. Check hole in bumber to verify size of hole you need.

Step 2. Cut hole correct size hole about 4 inches in from the tip of one of the forks

Step 3. Threat the ball on.... Removable ball now, dont have to weld it down. works like a champ and dont have to worry about that thing... just keep up with forks and ball

I'm sure that sucker is sturdy though lol

That's in the plans, and a hook or shackle underneath it.

I've seen this a lot, I didn't want anything permanent.

Seems like a lot of work when you could have just cut a hole in the tip of your forks and then just dropped an old ball of what ever size you choose into it don't even need to bolt it down unless you just want to. Worked at 3 places and they all just did that.

That said that is still some good metal working.
