    Shorty Tripod

Here is a "shorty tripod" I built for an upcoming hunt down south and thought it would also be pretty good any hunt in low mesquite country.

Its pretty simple design no frills other than a bow holder and camera mount, it folds in together and tips the scales at around 20#s and overall length will fit in the back of a regular bed pickup.

The seat height is 6 foot and legs have feet with pegs to help stabilize it in the ground.

Hopefully we can get some blood on it within the next few months!

Nice build, I like the compact profile. Are you going to put any sort of grate on the circular bar for your feet and setting stuff down?

That will work. We actually drew up a plan exactly like that a few years ago for the same thing but never followed through. Very nice.

Going to build one in the next couple days. I was having trouble designing the hinged legs, your pic saved me some headache. Thanks

How did you roll the foot ring or did you buy it?

                      Awesome build, very nice design.

Thank yall, the ring was made with a tubing roller from Harbor Freight, no mesh on the ring it really not big enough to hold much.
                        Thanks again

the only safety feature I would add would be a strap or loop from the end of the step back to the main leg. This way if you fell or your foot slipped off you wouldn't impelled on your step. Muddy boots and smooth metal don't mix well.
