    Raspy Drop Point

Just finished this one for an order. Rasp blade with Cholla cactus scales. Filling every little pin hole on the cactus scales is a pain even after it's been stabilized.

That is a great looking knife. Thea handle really sets it off, and I would not have ever thought it possible to stabilize that material.

Really nice same the handles really set it off.
I haven't worked with files or rasp in years. I guess I got lazy in my old days and don't like the annealing process, but then you gain so much time of finishing, which really offsets the annealing process. I remember one time running across a fellow that all he made was file knives and had a pretty prosperous business.
Again, really nice and perfect size.

It's a long mulit step process and is a pain in the tail.

Couldn't you just cast it in alumilite?

It would still have to be stabilized first. The Cholla is really porous so if you cast it in dyed Alumilite under pressure it will darken the entire scale by quite a bit.
