We had a place down around Johnson Bayou we leased, never went back after storms. Had a beach camp down there, that was our hunting and fishing cabin, same fate. Rita and Ike destroyed everything. Wish I could get the family back into it, just cant do it by myself. Will be interesting to watch you rebuild.
I use to live about 2 miles away from the intercoastal in Grand Lake. The sky's were always full of waterfowl during winter. I would love to be able to go back out there now that I hunt, my uncle always kept the freezer full of goose.
The blind is always open if you'd like to make a hunt.

We have a couple ponds we lease down in johnson bayou and know of the camps you speak of. My family had one back in the 70s and 80s but sold it before I was born. Needless to say the hurricanes also wiped out that camp too.
Honestly, skeeters haven't been that bad so far. I live on the water I have noticed its been quite nice this year. I guess the dry summer had a lot to with that. Now that we are getting a little rain, its also cooling off some and the north breeze seems to keep them down.
Really neat piece of marsh there. I think we shot a greenhead or two or ten the only day I was there. Did you get some of the beds I sent with HP? They would work good there. Lots of big ducks down already.
Yeah there was no short supply of green tops that day. Yeah I got 6 of em from DP. They're going to be perfect. Can't wait for opening day since I didn't get to make a teal hunt.
Man, I've been wondering about that place...did yall have to rebuild the floating camp after Ike? I used to hunt out there with Bobby and Andy Pearson. Good times...
