    DIY Polaris Ranger Splash/Mud Guards

Got really tired of mud and grass collecting up under my Ranger so I decided to copy a couple of peoples solutions off of the PRC forum.

This should help keep mice from making nests as well as cut down clean up time.

It took me 2 hours to get all of the mud off of the under carriage the other day!

I used 3/8in used conveyor belt and flashing for this build.

Total cost of the build was $40 max versus buying a pre-fab kit for $200 plus.

Probably took me 4 hours total to do this build.

Looks good, but won't that be LOUD?

The conveyor belt muffles the noise but no "true" testing done yet.

Once I finish the rest of the stuff I planned for it. (Metal roof with LED bars and winch hookup, belt change, fluids change, bed bracket to help secure cooler etc) I will take it back up there for a true test.

If it is loud I will just screw some conveyor belt strips to the flashing to muffle the noise.

I can already tell that the conveyor belt has contained some of the engine noise and directed it towards the back versus out the sides.

Just a thought, but I have used the black plastic molasses tubs to make mud flaps before. cut the bottom off, then the top support ring, then cut it across the width so It can lay flat on the ground. Now you have a pliable piece of heavy plastic that you can trace shapes onto, and cut with a dremel.

                  that would work well.

I also thought about using the 10mm ABS plastic sheets but since I already had the conveyor belt and the flashing was cheap it was a no brainer

I was able to finally test the splash guards out this last weekend and they weren't load at all. Dont get me wrong occasionally youd hear a rock hit the guards but it wasnt any loader than when a rock flings up and hits the bed.

These cut my cleaning time down by 75%!!!!

Nothing was able to cake up under the engine and everything sprayed off easily.
