trace mineral blocks from tsc and trophy rock

Can you feed the deer the trace mineral blocks from tractor supply that are for beef and horses? Trophy rock is 15 bucks for 12 lb rock and trace mineral is 50 pounds for like 7 bucks, they have most of the same minerals in them.

No sure about if you are supposed too, but the only thing my deer will touch is the Trophy Rock. I have tried several others and they are still there after 3+ rocks have been consumed. Good Luck!

      Kcwwcd,

How many acres are you hunting on. Thanks for using Trophy Rock.

You can and yes deer will hit it. That being said I believe the Trophy Rock has a higher concentration of more minerals than just a trace block. I put out 4 Trophy Rocks in January and the deer have really taken to them. Will be putting more out.

I use these and the deer at my place lick on them year round. Not sure why they would be ok for cattle (that we consume) and horses but not for the deer??? There is nothing extra in the Trophy Rock that is not present in the regular livestock mineral blocks.

I put the TSC one out before last deer season, it is halfway gone now. This is on a small 60 acre place, with fairly low deer numbers.

trophy rock has trace minerals that aren't mentioned in the man-made mineral bags. either are better than nothing however.
