    Bench Vise?

I was wondering what the green board though about Northern Tools Wilton WS6 6" vise? http://www.northerntool.com/shop/too...ct_48555_48555 I know its not USA made but I cant afford a USA made one for home use. From what I can find looks like its an ok mid-level vise. Little better than box store vise's? With all the top notch knife makers on here figured this would be a great place to ask. If not do you have any recommendations of a good $150 vise.

Mine is about 6-7 years old and a couple months ago the bottom broke out almost got my toes. The big zip tie is holding it together for now. Look on CL

Not sure where it was made I bought it at Home Depot and they don't carry them in store only online.

Harbor Freight has some cheap ones

Yeah HD sales china junk just like everyone else. Unless you pay $500 plus. HF, NT, Sears, Lowes, and Home Depot all have bad reviews.

The one I got from HF works good. I use it for building AR's

If you're willing to look at older ones, Wilton and even the old USA made Craftsman vices are pretty good.

I have a cheap China made POS at the house, and a USA made Craftsman at the Farm. I want a big Wilton, but it is not near the top of the priority list right now.

Reconditioning an old vice isn't hard, and can be rewarding. A little bit of time with a wirewheel, some engine enamel paint and grease makes it look and work like new.

What do you need to look out for with old vices?

Good question, and what about missing parts on old vices? Can they still be found or can you make your own parts?
