    Work Bench Out Of Elevator Door

    Just thought I would post a pic of one of the SS Elevator doors I picked up here in the classifieds. I wasn't sure how it would turn out but it ended up a very impressive solid work bench that will last a life time. Im very glad I got them, in the pic the top is dirty but its shined up like a new shiny dime now

    Nice Reuben...I really like the roller bench you were building that I saw the other day. You don't do anything 2nd rate brotha!!

      Very nice! How did you attach the stainless to the mild steel frame? I don't see any heat signatures from welding on the bottom side, nor any screws.

          The interior frame of the door is made out of mild steel so their just welded to the frames in a few spots to secure them to the frame.

                      Hey Thumper.......I never thought of that.......I work for Otis Elevator.....do you have any idea how many of those things get thrown away every day here ? You've got my wheels turnung now........

                          Man that makes me sick thinking their getting thrown away I have designs drawn up for a few more different styles when I can get my hands on a couple more.

                          FYI I was born in Joanna SC and all my dads side of the family is still their with some in Florence. When I head that way again maybe I could pick up a few from you My grandmother and aunt are here now visiting from out their. Small World my brother,
