    DIY elk target

This was a really easy and fun project. Think it came out pretty good.
    Borrowed an old overhead projector

Traced the picture on a clear sheet and projected it on a sheet of plywood. I measured my shoulder elk mount and moved projector back until image was life size compared to measurements if my mount. I then traced outline on the plywood and cut out with jigsaw. And little paint and its ready for a backstop in the vitals area. Ill probably just get a Block target and mount it behind.

As easy as this was I
May make a couple of deer and pig targets. I just need to come up with a cheap backstop part for the vitals.

I have the pattern for a hog I have made a dozen of them
For back I use either a block target or hang a bag target behind it

I read somewhere that four or five layered pieces of that rigid pink insulation sheeting would stop an compound arrow. Anyone try this ??? I could make a 6 layer piece for about $11 bucks. I know it won't last too long but if I could get say 200 arrows out of each target that would be worth it to me

Wish I would have done something like that before my elk hunt last year.

I've got a bunch of 1.5" or 2" thick sheets of styrofoam about 18"x30" if you want a bag of them you're welcome to them. I have used them for a backstop at my office and it worked.
