    Trapping Dog proof trap anchors

With minimal supplies you can make your own DP trap anchor systems.

    3/32 steel cable
    3/32 aluminum ferrules and stops
    Something to cut cable cleanly
    Crimping tool
    Link

Cut your cable to your desired length, and install your ferrule and stop, crimp them and repeat with the opposite end, install your link and fasten to your trap. It does not take long to make up a few dozen.

Easy, cheap and quick. It also makes your Dp trap highly modular and can be fastened and reused over and over and attached to anything they cant drag off..

I ordered a half dozen yesterday, and was wondering how I was going to anchor them.
        Thanks!

Do you have an extra 6 that you would consider selling?

You can make berkshires like these with the same stuff from above, they are what I use on all my bigger traps..Drive them into the ground, pull up to set the base and presto...

Here is a coyote caught from this morning..

Here is a Rosetta Bobcat from yesterday using the same staking system..

I made something similar for mine. Mine were about 8 ft long with a loop on each end, but my loops are big enough to allow half-hitching to a solid object. I like yours, I might have to keep them in mind for when I need more.

The downside of having them that long is when you do catch a animal they kink the heck out of the wire...and then it eats up a lot of time to roll up ..even worse sometimes to unroll

I have not had that issue yet. I needed that much length to get to trails or feeders from something to secure too. I will keep that in mind, thanks for the heads up.
