    Garage closet ideas?

I am trying to get a little spring cleaning started before it gets here. This fall all my hunting and fishing gear has been piling up. I am looking at making some closets in the garage to store things like golf clubs, hockey skates and camping and outdoor gear. I have some storage shelves but I mess around with wood a lot so I want to try to keep sawdust and dirt off all of my gear.
I know I can buy stuff from Lowes pre-fabricated, but I know I can build it all myself for less dough. Anybody have any suggestions on places to look at to get started? I want to make them with doors on them and a hanging shelf for all my camo gear and possible add an ozone later on. Any good suggestions are welcome, funny suggestions are welcome too.
But no, I don't want to just sell all myself so I wouldn't need to build anything anymore. Nice try.

Following this as well. I like the prefab cabinets, but at $200-250 each I can't buy enough.

I just recently started making a rolling closet for my wife. She now has too many clothes for the three closets in our house. I framed a box in 2x4s and put small wheels on the bottom. Im in the process of covering it with old barn tin. Then i will trim it out with old fence panels. It will have a bar across the top to hang clothes on and a shelf in the bottom to store some of the many shoes. I came up with the idea as a quick and easy solution to give me more room for my camo in my closet.

I took the space my freezer was sitting in and shelved and closed it off. Just moved freezer into "open" area on the wall. The space was about 52x43 or something odd. I hung 2 simple doors, it stores a ton of space, takes up no real room (sort of) and looks ok closed. I need to get in and clear more out of it, but out of sight out of mind.

If you have a 4x8 foot area in a corner, I build very large shelves from double 2x4s for the post on one corner, framed with 2x4s and then particle board shelves. One about 6" off the concrete which gives me room under to slide some big stuff I rarely need, and then 3, 4x8 foot shelves. I keep our Christmas decorations and other 'stuff' in big, heavy duty boxes but you could get a bunch of big Rubbermaid containers that would double stack in there for storage.

Just label what's inside where. I can take a picture if interested.

Pics or it didn't happen. Just kidding, no rush, but if anybody has pics, the ideas would be greatly appreciated. I have to run everything by my commanding officer before she lets me start. Ha ha!

I'd be glad to post a pic, but there'd be so much laughter over the mess that nobody would see the closet.....

X2. My garage is embarrassing with dozens of boxes of Christmas decorations waiting to go back on the shelves, plus the usual duck season mess.

Maybe above head storage racks? I'm thinking about putting some in soon.

You sound like you know what you're doing.

What if you used rubber strips to seal it and keep the dust out.

                        Good luck.
