I tried to put some crown molding up ONCE. Pretty near lost my religion over it. Ended up hiring someone to do the job.
That aint no lie! A trim carpenter told me one time to run crown moulding "you have to be able to think upside down, and backwards". Makes me wonder why there aren't more female trim carpenters.
Thanks for all the nice comments fellas. I'm pretty happy with the way things are progressing, and I can kinda see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Got some more done over the last couple of weekends - did not get a chance to post up the stuff from last weekend, so I am gonna group it all together.
Last weekend, we got the crown done in the front room.
Also got the batten trim done on the ceiling in the front room.
Built some door frames out of a bunch of old material we had.
This Saturday, we boxed in the gables under the porch with some more of the old siding material.
As the outside sits now. Next up outside, I am thinking, is some underpinning before the skunks decide they wanna move in under it.
Next up was some trim for the transition from the wainscot to the wall board. After that, we added some chair rail throughout. Good thing the chair rail was bought second-hand, it had a tag on it that said it was 37 bucks a stick new.
In order to get the miter box ready, Pops thought a hammer was necessary. Can't say I blame him.
Pops went out today and did a little ground-leveling with the Bobcat. We had a good bit of dirt piled up on the north and west sides from when he first scraped off for the pad. Got that spread out, as well as taking out a few cactus plants that were in the way.
Our newest neighbor. About the size of a chihuahua here.
