Finally getting to bring this one back up. Been kinda slow since the holidays and the crappy weather. Lately, we cut the rafter tails,and got the nailers put up on the end of them. Got the collar ties put up to give the roof some strength - you know for these big snows we get here in central Texas. Also got the lathing put on so we can go on with the sheet iron.

This weekend looks to be a short one, so we are gonna put the porch floor on and do some prep for the roof. The sheet iron has been ordered and is on-site, so hopefully we can tackle that next weekend.

A few more updates coming in a minute as soon as I get some of them re-sized.

On Saturday, we got the porch floor on. Had plans to get more done, but things tend to move slower than anticipated. We ended up tacking on some tar paper over the floor joists so that any rain that landed on the floor would shed off of them. Had to move around the temporary porch supports and all that good stuff to get the floor done. Screwed it all on with a mixture of 3 and 3.5 inch screws, so hopefully it will not start warping on us. Also, still got to trim the end of the floor boards. Always something, ya know.

A couple of pics of the finished porch floor - minus having the ends of the porch floor trimmed straight. The most important thing is that we now have a porch to sit on and watch everything but traffic and all that kind of garbage go by.
