How to make a knife?

Theres been a lot of knife topics on here lately and its given me the itch to try and make my own. I know next to nothing about it, so would anyone like to give me a run down on the process and what tool/material I should start with? TIA

Doublearrow did a knife build in the diy section that shows you how. Just search his name and it will show up. I have made several from following his build along.

^^ did this and same of my own research. I made mine from an old file and rose wood I had at the house I used some good files and a hacksaw to shape the metal all I bought was sandpaper extended work epoxy and brass pins turned out ok I think... oh forgot abut heat treat youll need a way to do that, you can send it off or do it yourself with coal and oil that how I did mine. hope you get one underway!
