    DIY self pull behind disc

Posted in wrong place I have started a pull behind disc for 4 wheeler or lawn mower. Using two small disc gangs from a farmall tractor my pops gave me. And a lot of redneck ingenuity haha. Have several pics I am bout to post. all I have to build now is a box to place a cinder block in to add weight, without the block my law mower will pull it around.

That'll get the job done. Just a couple pointers if you haven't done so. I would add grease fittings so you can grease the shafts and also make a way to add extra weight. A piece of solid rod welded vertically so you can add some plate weights will work fine. Great job though.

Already had grease fittings I think it my block will be plenty of weight it its pretty heavy now 100# or so and its a solid 80# cinder block that you put houses on.

Question: How do you transport it without disking up your trail? What I mean is, you hook it up to the 4-wheeler, and have to travel 1/2 a mile to the spot you want to disk.....how do you get it to not drag on the ground until you get to the spot?

don't have to travel that far I will eventually mount wheels to it somehow I need to go to tractor supply and see what they have. I only have to travel 150-200 yards and when I pulled it behind my lawn mower tonight it didn't scar the ground to bad. Of coarse I wasn't going fast either.

you will not get it to cut very well. the disk blades should be turned the other way.. the concave should face forward.. IMO..

Here's an idea. Mount the wheels on the opposite side as the disc. Then just flip it over with the tongue. Should be to pretty easy to flip with the weight on the back end.

That was the plan. I will need to price wheels or see if I can find some from my dad or a junk yard. But for now this will have to work. And I think with enough weight on it and you go thru the plot enough it will cut the ground just find. This will mainly use this for hard to reach areas

It'll cut just fine. Those sunflower disks work amazing.

If you can get a hold of some more disks I'd do another row facing the other direction just like the big manufactured disks. Looks good man

That's the way my dad told me they would cut the best. Yeah I would like to but doubt I find any without buying em

I built one 2 years ago and it still works fine. The discs are turned the wrong way and should be reversed. I added a screw jack for a trailer and front tires off of a riding lawn mower and it works great. no need to flip it, just screw it!!! The handle that is, and you are ready to go. I can post pics if you would like to see them for some ideas.
