Be careful with the potato guns. They fit the exact definition of a "zip gun" under Texas penal code section 46.01 (16) a device or combination of devices that was not originally a firearm and is adapted to expel a projectile through a smooth-bore or rifles-bore barrel by using the energy generated by an explosion or burning substances." Pursunat to Section 46.05(e). Possessing or manufacturing a zip gun is a third degree felony punishable by 2-10 years in the pen and up to a $10,000 fine. Sure don't think taht it's a good idea to film yourself and post the video to a website just to prove the case against you beyond a reasonable doubt. Hate to be a kill joy but would hate more for an innocent mistake to land someone in hot water.
