Closing in garage

I'm closing in my garage after the garage door almost fell on my jeep!!
I decided to close off the back six feet (width) of garage and built a 6x6 gun room (closet) and storage.
The rest of garage will be entertainment room (man cave) for me and my boys.
Heres some pics of the almost finished gun room.






More to come when I finish the rest and move all my guns in.

It aint big enough. Mine is 10x10 and I have regretted it since the day I moved the safe in.

What did you use for the floor in the gun room? Where did you get it from?

Nice work. Is that just a "normal" door for your gun room? If so, are you planning on swapping it out for a safe door?

How are you going to control moisture in that room?

Not sure if the floor had a vapor barrier in place before it was poured but if not, there could be a moisture problem in the future.

A lot of older construction didn't have it to save a few dollars but it can be an issue down the road. We see it a lot here in Southeast Texas, even in Houston.

I am planning on A/C in room and will be ordering de-humidifiers to put in there. I put some moister barrier padding down and covered it with 1/2 interlocking rubber mats I think they are 2'x2' mats. The door is a steel door, maybe a safe door later on..(on a budget)
I built a gun rack today, I will post pics. Tomorrow!!
