Made my son a bean shooter.

Put some 1/4" round rod in the bench vise and whacked it with a hammer. Lace some leather on the handle and done.

Way better than letting them play video games all day.

My son wanted to make one. We went out and found a suitable forked stick, cut it down, stripped the bark, made a pouch and attached it with 4 tournaquete bands (2 per side). I loaded it with a ball bearing and shot the side of the metal shop and the bearing put a dent into the shop! I then told my son he couldn't keep it(guarantee he would have shot his brother) and he looked at me like I was crazy.
