I built a blind just before the beginning of rifle season last year. I haven't posted a DIY on the build, but thought I might share it now.
I borrowed most of the ideas from other blinds that I have seen here and there. It is a 6'x6'x7'. I wanted it elevated on a 10' tower. I wish I had taken more pictures along the way, but I was in a bit of a time crunch when I got started.
SketchUp Really made the planning phases easy.
3/4" plywood floor and 4" cee purlin made up the frame. I know it will be heavy, but I don't want to have to rebuild anything, once its set up.
I ordered some windows and a door from Deerview Windows (excellent product by the way) and once I got the windows framed out, I skinned it with U-Panel. I used liquid nail to hold up insulation board on the interior. Helps stay cool, and keep toasty on the chilly mornings.
Built and hung a landing off of the front that will support the staircase.
Started on stairs. I thought about a ladder, but with some family that likes to hunt, stairs would be easier on older knees
stairs are almost done.
Holes for the door and windows are cut and then installed. Starting to look like a blind.
Found some outdoor barn and fence paint and tinted it green. Won't be so shiny now.
Got the Tower on. Used 3"x3"x1/4" angle for the legs. Loaded up, and headed down to the lease!
Pulled it upright with the truck and was nervous that something would go wrong. Nothing bad happened and it went up without a hitch.

Overall the build wasn't bad. It went up alot easier than I had hoped, and was much cheaper than buying one complete!
