    Tree build with Grandson.

We were not planning on going up to our property this weekend. Woke up Friday morning and asked the grandson if he wanted to go and start us a tree stand. He said well sure, I guess.
So we loaded some treated 2x4's I had laying under my shop and headed out. It is only about 1.5 hr drive. So we made a stop by the blue lumber store on the way up and bought some treated 2x6's for the framework. The deck is just over 10' in height. The floor frame is 13'x13'x13'. It was just him and I for the afternoon start on the project, later on my father-in-law came over to help out. Here are some pics of the build. Still going to add handrails and camo netting.

Wish we had some straight trees down here...I would be curious to how much you have in material when all said & done.

Most of the lumber has came from the cull rack outside of the blue store. I got lucky one day and bought about 5K worth of lumber for $680. I always look outside when I go by there, normally get some good prices on lumber. Also if they have multiple bundles and talk to the manager and tell them you will take the whole lot they will mark it down even more.

I thought that I was seeing things when there was a red tractor that turned green. :-)

We were using 2, the solenoid went out on mine, so I was having to climb up on mine to reach. So my father-in-law brought his over.

The orange store does it as well. Some of the lumber is warped or split but I just cut the bad part off and use the rest.

I know a gentleman that used to build all of the Papas restaurant interiors out using these discount piles.

                              Great project!
