    Euro Display Tree Questions

So as my Euro skulls are growing, I'm thinking of making a display tree like the pic posted. My questions are:
What type of tree should I use?
Will I need to treat it first?
    What about the base?
    Thanks for the input!!

The one in the pic is peeled cedar and that's what I would use.

Not the best pics. Not sure about prepping/sealing the wood. I just cut down a small cedar from our lake place and stood it ceiling to floor and hung the skulls. Some are on screws and some are on smaller branches.

ID:	26992252So, a couple years ago I made one for my sons euros. Cut down a cedar tree out in the pasture, trim the branches off. Used some dowel rods to make the stobs to hang the heads. Base is some 1x4's or 1x6's with some spare slats of some type I had laying around the shop. You can make em as fancy as you want, but they are really fairly simple.

I like cedar but a tree from the property you hunt most often would also be a neat touch.

I used a piece of driftwood, its still a work in progress. I built a box platform that it is mounted to.

What's the diameter of the driftwood & how big did you make your box?

I’m looking at doing the same for some mounts. Going to track down a seasoned looking cedar post with some old barb wire on it and build the box around the bottom sorta like the above pics.

peeled cedar was my other thought.

It's probably 10'' at bottom to about 7'' at top, the box ended up being 24''x18'' lag bolt from the bottom of box and 4 ''L'' brackets around the bottom of the log.

I built this one using a section of cedar trunk from the hunting property and the barb wire was wrapped around the base of a tree next to my blind that I shot the 9-point at.

I have one, too and really like it. It spins on a lazy Susan.

                            i really like kmacks, too.

That's what I was thinking about also, Lazy Susan. But with a mesquite tree trunk with a few branch bases, strong enough for skulls also.
