    Texas Euro Plaques

I have never been a fan of vertical euro skulls or the large under-jaw angled board on euro plaques. So, I set out to make a cleaner version.

Feedback, good, bad, or indifferent will be greatly appreciated!

Deer was my 1st but forgot to take photos.
Working out hog ,javelina, and ram now.

Auodad below. Birch plywood, walnut stain.
All 3 pieces disassemble to ship flat. Will mount to wall with 2 screws.

Eventually these will be made from pecan and Mesquite.

Those look good. I do the same for some of our euros and actually turned some into charcuterie boards with some fancier wood. I use cedar for the euros.

I like it. You should make some into magnetic kitchen knife holders.

First glue-up prototype cut and finish added. No stain, just clear wipe on poly to highlight natural beauty. This guy measures 16" × 16", same size as auodad plaque above.

What size do you use for Feral Hog skull? This one is being rebleached but will need to go on the wall afterwards Thanks Click image for larger version

I wonder if you could make one with bald cypress. I'm assuming I'll see some while hunting gators next month.

Type of wood doesn't matter. I've cut everything including Purple Heart which is pretty high on January scale. The biggest thing is making sure the wood is below 12% moisture content. Otherwise you cut it and when it starts drying crazy movement happens, cupping, warping, bowing, or splitting.

                            Finally, just before opener!
Deer, hog, and Javelina all on same hook.

Skulls are tilted at 45 deg and look much better than other "hooks" on the market. I'm just not a fan of skulls looking straight down or having the extra board underneath.
