I can attest AC is alive and well. And has made some awesome dining. And, he has not yet electrocuted him self. Even if he did, he still has 8 lives left to live.

Thanks for the DIY idea, AC! I guess a person could wire it up anyway they choose. Maybe even put an on/off switch on it somewhere.

I just wish I could have shellfish again.

Here is an electrical connection alternative that has male end connector referenced earlier

Thanks! I like that connection. I will probably change this one out. I appreciate y’all’s input.

I gotta agree. It's funny how great things can be made better with a little outside perspective. Plus, you won't unplug it in the wrong order, but someone else may. You don't want one of your grandkids thinking they're helping PawPaw, and hurting themselves. I'd change it out.

Agree Curt. This thing is still a work in progress. Nothing wrong with making improvements. I will probably be boiling some more shrimp in it tomorrow.

              Question

Did you have to alter or enlarge the hole in the Hub for the heating element to have space to slide in?

              Thx

The element was a tad too wide. I have a bench mounted vise. I put the tip where it curves in the vise and crimped it just enough to fit.

Sorry guys it was an easy fix and didn’t harm the element at all.

I've got 5 lbs of shrimp, 2 lbs of sausage, 8 ears of corn, and a small bag of red potatoes in the swamp bucket right now 😍

I’ve gained 15 lbs since I got it up and running.

I purchased the RV plug like someone recommended. I haven’t changed it out. I will eventually, just to keep any Cowboys fan from electrocuting themselves on the extension cord.
It works fine right now. We’ve enjoyed cooking with it.

Thank you! I know Smart and I were concerned about electrocuting our selves, or each other. We and a couple others pitched in, and we're sending you some Cowboy stickers for each side of the bucket so you'll feel at home.
