    DIY Revolver Grips

These are probably the 3rd or 4th set of grips I’ve made over the years and I’ve said this each time…grip makers are worth every nickel they charge and I should probably stick to leather work.

Anyway, these started out as ‘natural colored’ micarta. Once they were done I didn’t really like the color so I tried staining them a dark brown. I didn’t like that either so I took acetone in an attempt to remove all the stain and they turned into some brownish/olive swirl. Now they are a cross between butt-ugly and kind-of cool looking. Think I’ll run by Woodcraft today and see if I can find something there to try again. Regardless, these are functional…

When I was in high school, we had an Outdoor Ed class that we could take for an elective. Our teacher had a catalog that we could order a black powder revolver kit from. It came with a set of rough grips, but I didn't like them and cut out some of my own. I'm gonna retire in about 2-1/2 years and finally get to finishing that thing. 🤣

Those are both great. Walnut ones contrast is perfect
