I did some water witching and found two places that show to have water. I will need to buy at least 150 more pipe before my friend and I will begin drilling the wells on my property.

Make sure to go to the trld web site and go to the water well drillers page and read up on how to properly construct the well and to do the surface completion correcty
Done wrong and you could allow pollutants to enter the water table your drilling into
I'm in the business and we plug improperly constructed wells on a daily basis so that our water supply can be protected to the greatest extent practical
There are a great quantity of unknown wells that aren't registered
When there not registered, people die, wells go bad and another conduit for pollutants opens up to our aquifers
Done right though and they are a great addition to the property

I have been working on a similar project but on a lot smaller scale and budget. I have a 10 ft tower and will use 3/4 in pipe in five ft sections. My power is a 7 hp post hole digger and I was able to find a used swivel. I have a small 2 inch mud pump. Little Beaver in Livingston Tx sells the drill stem with the right thread in inch and a quarter but it is way out of my league. Their units can do the 350 foot well. I plan on around 100ft and have already drilled 60ft by hand and hit water sand with a 2 inch bit.

Any progress pictures of your rig while you were building it? Any specs on the equipment? What size diesel motor is on the mud pump?
