Dan, that old siding on those campers is a pain to get pain to stick to. Have you considered getting it wrapped?

Wouldn't that be a pain since it is not a flat surface?

Make sure you sand it really well and clean it. Then get some good quality paint you like and it will be fine. If you want to tape it all off and borrow/rent an airless sprayer it would look really good.
