    Roof-mounted spot light install?

Who has installed a http://www.golight.com/products/stryker.html, or comparable, to the roof of their vehicles? How did you wire it IF you didn't drill through the roof? I'm paranoid about drilling through the roof. So, I have made a magnetic base for it. I'm just at a loss for ideas of what's the best, most inconspicuous way to wire from the outside in.

I've drilled for all the spotlights I've installed. For your application, I would run the wiring to the edge of the roof, and where the groove is that usually has plastic in it, run the wiring under the plastic and down to the hood and to the battery. Just my on the spot opinion.

If your go light is magnetic, then run your wire through the rear taillight on the roof. In an extended cab truck the wire is just long enough to reach the power point in the cab. Also on my work truck I installed a power point in the bed for the light to plug into. Works like a charm.

        I guess I should've added it's going on this...

I was thinking I could just drop the wire down inside, between the driver-side window and door jam (where the fuse panel and toggle switch are) but am afraid that may leave the potential for a water leak.
OR, I could run the wires down the windshield and side window, under the hood and through the firewall but how can I do that and still keep the wires from being so noticeable?

If you pull the weather seal loose you'll likely find a slot to run the wire through in the rib that the weather seal sits on. At least that's been the case on most of my past vehicles.

I have mine mounted to my headache rack. the wire runs to the bed of the truck. I wired an extension cord to my battery and ran it under the truck and up into the bed. I wire all of my hunting lights to use regular wall plugs. Easy to use and unplug if needed. All of my lights are wired this way.

I am not certain of the gauge of wire but I would think you could do it the same way I installed the aftermarket antenae on my sattelite radio. I ran it over to the door and then pushed it into the top side of the weather stripping and then once it was down to the lower level of my dash I ran it inside the dash to power source. I did not see a price what did it run you? Very cool light to have.

Install instructions, depending on length of wire, recommends a minimum of 14-16 gauge wire.
