    UTV Rear Seat?

Anybody make their own forward facing rear seat for a utv?

I have a Polaris Ranger and am wanting to put a low seat in the bed to carry passengers occasionally. Looking for ideas similar to a forward facing rumble seat that is easy to remove/install. Has anybody done this before? What did you use for the seat? Any pics?

I do, we have made a couple... One for a Teryx and one for a Rhino. I've got some pictures but I'll have to load them on here tommorow.

I simply put a 2x6 with 1" dowels that fit in the side holes. You can move it forward or back on the bed. I painted it black. Simple and cheap.

I made some bench seats for the back seat of my Mule. Not exactly forward facing but it was pretty easy to make and attaches with 3 bolts.

Edit: Added a picture. Sorry if it's kinda dark.

Here is a picture. Just an idea if you are looking for a quick and cheap seat. You can move it or remove it in seconds. It also helps to keep things in place if you move it to secure stuff.

Here are two from the Rhino, the seats can be turned around to sit facing rearward if wanted

                We used 1" scew pipe,
                1. 4- 6" piece for the holes in the bed
                2. 4 90's
                3. 2 stright runs to go across the bed and attach to the 90's then we used a 2 x 12 bolted to the pipe and attached your favorite chair to the 2x12 easy in and out.

may want to usea longer or shorter piece of pipe for the holes in the bed depending on height, we have ours set up so we can shoot over the top of the cab while sitting down

Find an old school bus seat. Sometimes the school motor pool will have old ones laying around they'll give away. Bolt to a piece of plywood cut to fit in the bed and a ratchet strap or two to hold it in place when in use. Can turn it either way when you want.

I like the sound of this. Utilizing the bed holes is key on a ranger for easy in & out without damaging the bed.

My son keeps asking for a rear seat and your bracket sounds like a good starting place.

you can get a Rhino Equivalent seat at Northern Supply we bought two for the Teryx I think they were 86 a piece. The Rhino specific ones go for 100.

On CL's in Dallas, someone had a FREE bench seat out of an old Ford Courier P/U that would work perfect for a rear seat.
